Geo Controller includes one of the most accurate IP detection algorithms available, capable of identifying a visitor’s real IP address even when a VPN is in use.

However, please note that absolute accuracy is not always possible. High-quality VPN services may successfully mask or alter IP data, making it harder to determine the real location.

In certain countries or regions, Internet Service Providers (ISPs) often use shared routing networks or centralized hubs. This means the detected location might vary from a few meters to several miles, depending on the distance between the user and their ISP’s base station.

This type of inaccuracy is also common on mobile networks, where IP assignment changes frequently and geo precision is often approximate.

How to Improve Accuracy

For improved precision, we recommend using our Geo Controller GPS add-on. This extension allows you to collect real-time GPS data from a visitor’s:

This allows for accurate positioning within a few meters, updated every 5 minutes — but only if the visitor consents to sharing their location.
