Wooplatnica is a WooCommerce payment gateway designed for generating payment slips (opšta uplatnica) for bank payments in the Republic of Serbia.

When integrated with Geo Controller, Wooplatnica can automatically convert the amount used to generate a payment slip into Serbian Dinars (RSD), using available currency conversion data.

This integration is especially useful for WooCommerce stores that display or manage prices in foreign currencies but need to generate payment instructions denominated in RSD for customers making payments in Serbia.

What Is Wooplatnica?

Wooplatnica is a WooCommerce payment gateway that generates payment slips in PDF format.

Depending on its configuration, Wooplatnica can also include an NBS IPS QR code, allowing customers to initiate payment using a compatible Serbian mobile banking application.

Payment slips can be delivered to customers by email and stored on the website’s server according to Wooplatnica’s configuration.

Wooplatnica generates payment instructions; it does not automatically guarantee that a bank transfer has been completed.

How Geo Controller Integrates with Wooplatnica

Geo Controller includes a dedicated integration that connects to Wooplatnica’s wooplatnica_cena filter.

When Wooplatnica requests an amount for a payment slip, Geo Controller can process that amount using its currency conversion system.

The integration is designed to:

  • Convert the payment slip amount into Serbian Dinars (RSD).
  • Use available currency exchange rates for conversion.
  • Return the amount without a currency symbol, as expected for numeric payment slip values.
  • Keep the original amount unchanged when both the detected and configured base currencies are RSD.

Currency conversion depends on valid exchange rate information and the currencies supported by the Geo Controller conversion service.

How to Enable the Integration

  1. Install and activate WooCommerce.
  2. Install and activate Wooplatnica.
  3. Install and activate Geo Controller.
  4. Open the Geo Controller Settings and enable the relevant plugin integration settings.
  5. Navigate to WooCommerce → Settings → Payments and configure the Wooplatnica payment method.
  6. Verify that Geo Controller has a valid base currency and access to currency conversion data.
  7. Save your settings and perform a test order.

Practical Example

Imagine a WooCommerce store using EUR as its base currency while offering Wooplatnica as a payment method for customers in Serbia.

When a customer places an order using Wooplatnica, Geo Controller can convert the amount supplied to the payment slip generator from EUR into RSD.

The generated payment slip can then display the amount in Serbian Dinars according to the available conversion rate.

For a store already using RSD, Geo Controller can preserve the original amount without applying an unnecessary conversion when both relevant currency settings identify RSD.

Currency Conversion vs. WooCommerce Order Currency

Important: The Wooplatnica integration is specifically designed to modify the amount supplied to Wooplatnica for payment slip generation.

It does not independently change:

  • The WooCommerce store’s base currency.
  • The original product prices saved in WooCommerce.
  • The currency or totals recorded in the WooCommerce order.
  • Bank exchange rates or fees applied during payment.
  • The payment status of the order.

This distinction is important when WooCommerce orders are recorded in one currency while payment slips are generated in RSD.

Compatibility and Limitations

Wooplatnica is a third-party WooCommerce payment gateway maintained independently from Geo Controller.

The Geo Controller integration relies on Wooplatnica continuing to provide its wooplatnica_cena filter.

Before using the integration in production, verify that:

  • Wooplatnica is compatible with your installed WooCommerce version.
  • The payment method is available in your active checkout implementation.
  • The amount generated on the payment slip is correct.
  • The currency conversion rate is available and appropriate.
  • PDF generation and email delivery work correctly.
  • Optional NBS IPS QR codes contain the intended payment information.

Different WooCommerce checkout implementations and third-party payment extensions may require additional compatibility testing.

Important Payment Considerations

Currency conversion rates can change over time. The amount displayed on a generated payment slip may differ from a rate used elsewhere in your store or by a customer’s bank.

Store owners should verify the amount before issuing payment instructions and ensure that their accounting and payment reconciliation processes correctly handle orders denominated in foreign currencies.

Geo Controller provides the currency conversion integration but does not execute bank transfers or independently verify successful payment.
